1983

Foundation of the organization with 150 members

1987

Creation of the Fondation d’aide aux parents d’enfants handicapés

1987

Trained educators to facilitate the integration of children with disabilities into daycare

1988

A project assisting young adults with integrating the workforce which inspired the Office des personnes handicapées du Québec (OPHQ) to create workplace integration programs

1990

A claim was made to Joseph Charbonneau and Victor Doré schools to allow the integration of young people with multiple disabilities

1996

Obtaining the Community Action Program for Children (CAPC) of Health Canada allowed us to hire a social worker which led to a significant increase in the number of member and a greater diversity in the profiles of these members

1997

Funding from Centraide of Greater Montreal allowed us to consolidate the mission’s funding

1999

Changed the name of the organization : Solidarité de parents de personnes handicapées moteur and replaced it with Société de parents de personnes handicapées inc.

2005

Collaborated in the documentary Médecine sous influences, produced by the National Film Board (NFB)

2006

Following the broadcast of the Médecine sous influences documentary, the PHAS Movement (Personnes Handicapeés pour l’Accès aux Services) was created.

2008

The launch of our testimonial collection, published by CHU Ste-Justine Editions, entitled Je serai toujours là pour toi, during Montreal’s Book Fair

2010

Production and launch of a DVD to raise awareness: Histoires de familles, d’amour et de défis, in collaboration with the Centre St-Pierre

2012

Development of the triennial strategic plan for 2013 to 2016

2016

Launch of the triennial plan for 2016 to 2019 with 498 members
