I was a newcomer to Québec when I got to know Solidarité. I have no idea what I would have done if Solidarité hadn’t been in my life
Today’s parents have access to a lot of information on the topic of family. However, it is more difficult to find quality content that addresses issues affecting children with disabilities.
Therefore, Solidarité offers parents information sessions to improve their knowledge on various topics such as the sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities, guardianship and wills.
Led by a parent facilitator, group discussions feature a theme that allow parents to share their experiences, their concerns and ask questions. Exchanging with others who are in similar situations brings great comfort to parents. Topics such as Parents or Caregivers?, Ages O to 5 years old, Prepare Your Summer and many other topics, have been addressed in recent years.
INFORMATION SESSIONS AND GROUP DISCUSSIONS ALLOW PARENTS TO:
- BENEFIT FROM A PLACE WHERE THEY CAN SPEAK OPENLY
- FIND CONCRETE SOLUTIONS TO THEIR PROBLEMS
- USE THEIR EXPERIENCE TO HELP NEW MEMBERS
